Superintendent Dr. Timothy Edsell - Biography

I was born and raised in northeastern Pennsylvania, graduated from Cedarville University with a Mathematics Education degree, and, then, married a Hoosier, which brought me to Indiana as an educator for the past 20 years.

Professionally, I have served as the interim superintendent of Anderson Community Schools from October 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014. Previously, I served as superintendent of Northeastern Wayne Schools from January 1, 2012 to September 30, 2013 and served as the assistant superintendent of Northeastern Wayne Schools from July to December 2011. During my tenure as a superintendent, Northeastern implemented a one-to-one iPad initiative, received a 2012-13 corporation “B” grade after several years of average ratings, recognized as a 2012 U.S. News & World Report “Bronze medal” rating for our high school, promoted our school corporation to see a significant increase in student enrollment, created a new staff appraisal model, enhanced a K-12 professional development program, and ratified a new collective bargaining agreement for our faculty.

Prior to this advancement, I served as principal at Northwestern High School in Kokomo, Indiana for five years. During my tenure as principal, Northwestern High School received some very special national and statewide recognition: 2006 National Blue Ribbon School Award, Indiana Four Star School Award for four consecutive years (2007-10), and 2009 “Head of the Class” Indiana Chamber of Commerce Best Buys’ School. In addition, I served as an assistant principal for six years, a math teacher for seven years, a head football coach for four years, and an assistant football and baseball coach for several years at various school corporations.

Educationally, I received my doctorate (Ph.D.) and educational specialist (Ed.S.) degree at Indiana State University and my master’s degree (M.A.E.) at Ball State.

Personally, I have a strong commitment to my family, as I love spending quality time with my wife and three daughters. Also, I enjoy watching and participating in a variety of sports and outdoor recreation.

Finally, I count it a sincere honor and privilege to serve as the new leader of Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson United School Corporation and will truly enjoy the opportunity for us to pursue excellence in order to make our school system even better.
